I have an AWE64 CT4520 card here I am using for my Windows 98 box. It's recognized in 98 SE, plug and play drivers are installed and it works fine for Wavetable MIDI.
Unfortunately after a restart it defaults to Sound Blaster 16 mode (16-bit audio mode) for MIDIs. I have found removing the drivers and having 98 reinstall them works for a single boot.
I also found disabling the 16-bit audio driver works, and it goes back to Wavetable MIDI, but it no longer has volume control and cannot play WAVs.
Is there a way I can make it default to Wavetable MIDI for MIDI files, and 16-bit audio for WAVs?
Thanks.
