There have been some threads about the CT4520 recently. Some of them may be crippled SB16 cards.
AWE 64, What is the difference between CT4500 and CT4520 (and AWE64 alternatives)
The SB AWE64 advantages???
A better card would be the CT3670, which is basically an Awe64 with simm slots.
With the 4520, you are going to be limited to the 512kb of RAM unless you either buy an extremely rare Creative upgrade card, find an out of production AWESIMM or SIMMCON, or make one yourself.
Edit:
Which Sound Blaster 32 do you have?
The standard CT3600 has no onboard RAM
The OEM CT3600 has 512kb RAM
The CT3670 has no onboard RAM but has the AWE64 chip
The CT3930 has no onboard RAM but has a real Yamaha OPL3 chip
I have the CT3600 not sure with version. Here is my card.

Adding memory will let you load soundfonts. If you have no particular soundfonts that you want to load, then adding memory will not help you.

That is the standard CT3600 with no onboard RAM. (The build in 1MB sound bank is not that great).
You can use up to 2x16MB simms. (28MB total can be used)
In pure DOS, you can load different soundfonts and it will help some games.. the ones that will work with the larger soundfonts that is. Also looks like you can enable GM in DOS with AWEUTIL.
If you run DOS games through Windows 98 it will also let you use the card as a General MIDI device.
