Hi all,
I'm wanting to buy a vortex2 based card for A3D. Specifically I'mnlooking at a Turtle Beach Montego II or the Diamond Monster MX300.
The Turtle Beach is a fair bit cheaper than the MX300, is there any reason not to get it over it?

Personally, I wouldn't look specifically for either.

Thanks, I'd have to import the card since I'm in the UK but that still the cheapest.
So no reason not to just buy that?
Aureal made their own cards with optical output if you need that.
The diamond MX300 had coax digital output but you needed to buy the cable for it. The MX300 also has a wavetable connection if that matters.

That Turtle Beach I see also has a WaveTable header.

And it also has an SPDIF header.
That card on ebay has the later revision chip (note the AU8830 marking), which has support for hardware accelerated wavetracing and therefore helps a little with the framerate on A3D games like Half-Life. 😀 Diamond MX300 cards with it I haven't seen.
