ok now i grabbed the driver archive for it and it has me wanting to make adjustments to config.sys/autoexec.bat.

i looked at this guide Phil's MS-DOS Mode Tutorial: Working Memory, Mouse, CD-ROM and Sound Blaster 16/32/64 in Windows 9x MS-DOS Mode but not sure how to adapt the drivers for this as be default this sound card doesnt do SB16 emulation w/o its drivers.

Two files are important to load the CS423x based cards up. First is CS4232C.EXE which is the TSR for programming the card with settings and starting it up. The other is CS32MIX.EXE which sets initial mixer settings. You can see how they're used in my AUTOEXEC.BAT file, posted in the thread linked below.

Freeing enough Conv. Mem for TES:Arena? (Logs included)

There's a trick to getting the menus for CS32CFG.EXE to work so you can change settings graphically and it currently escapes me, but editing CS4232.INI manually works fine.
