So I've got this problem getting the correct driver for this controller to work. Windows wants to assign it a "USB audio device" driver, which doesn't work. Says it's the best driver but I still get the exclamation mark in device manager.

I remember a few years ago I had it working for a few days... not sure what driver it was using then though. It does this with bone stock 98SE and with the NUSB drivers, 98SE 2 ME upgrade, et cetera.

I've tried using drivers from Yamaha and Roland with no success. Alesis claims it is class compliant and should work in 98 plug n pray.

I guess I could move to a controller with known 98 drivers but I've got this one already and I'd like to see if I can get it to work without having to sacrifice MIDI ports on my patchbays or sound card.

Any suggestions?
