Anyone know a good source to get the serial host cable for a Yamaha sound module to connect to a serial port on a PC?

I found out that its Yamaha part # CCIBM but I can't even find one on eBay!

Aren't those quite standard?

The cable connectors on that one from eBay will connect but apparently Yamaha changed the wiring arrangement. If I can't find a correctly wired cable I would have to cut one of these and wire it correctly. Its a bit of a messy job but with the info you provided it can be done. Thanks.

Are they seriously wired differently? I have a Yamaha (mini-din to mini-din) and a Roland (50 pin dsub to mini-din). I have used them both on my Yamaha, Roland, and Korg modules without any problems. The Korg was a little tricky, as you have to set the cable speed through the menu instead of a simple switch like on the Yamaha/Roland units though.

Hint: PC1 = 50pin Serial
PC2 = 9pin Serial
MAC = Apple computers, but also Yamaha interfaces (like UW500) need to have to module in MAC mode to link properly.

According to the diagram for the Yamaha CCIBM cable and the diagram for the generic 8 pin mini DIN to DB9 that I ordered, they are wired differently. I don't know if it will work anyway but I am going to play it safe and rearrange the wiring on the ones I ordered to match the Yamaha CCIBM cable.
