If you were to pick one of these PCI cards to maximize combatibility and utility with games ranging from DOS to Win98 to Win2K what would your picks be and why?

Im currently leaning towards the EMU10K because of SF2 support but I realize OPL3 will be attrocious.

ES1938 is probably good for ESFM OPL3 but lacks MIDI wavetable support.

No idea what the CS4281 sounds like but I guess it also lacks a wavetable?

That leaves the YMF as the only solid choice in the list?

Am I missing anything?

ES1938 boards often feature an unpopulated wavetable header. Ultimately, compatibility will be strongly dependent on motherboard support.

ES1938S with Dreamblaster-S2 is a very good combination if the motherboard supports it.
In my test, the ES1938S was better than all over mentioned above.

Now, if only I could find an ES1938S with a wavetable header for a good price..

Shipping 16 Euros.

Is this an offer? Or a link to something on sale somewhere?

Terratec built units would be ideal for you. They're inexpensive. One seller is from Germany.
