Hey guys;

i am having annoying issues with my sound card when ever i enable EAX in game i get severe sound and FPS stuttering. The games i have tried are;
NFS HIghstakes, Hot Pursuit and UT99, they all suffer from the same stuttering when i enable EAX, but stereo works fine. I have went into creative settings and moved slider to performance as well as nvidia opengl settings to high performance. I am using VXD drivers

Any one good any ideas

My Specs

Windows98SE
Pentium 4
Ct4840 Sound Card
Geforce 5600ultra

If you have a SATA controller, disable it in the hardware manager. If that doesn't work, try disabling it in the BIOS.

I've had that same problem before. Disabling the SATA controller fixed it. Of course, this may be a problem if you're using a SATA hard drive.
