Is there anyway to connect the front case panel audio connections to this card? If not I'll have to look into some headphones with a longer cord.

It's possible to get going, but by default the original drivers do not route audio through the expansion headers.
Which front panel connector were you wanting to use? The stock motherboard one cases come with? This might be doable so long as they want a digital signal and not an analog one. Otherwise you will need a DAC on the front panel connector.

So 2 Questions:
Which front panel do you wish to use?
Which Aureal Vortex 2 card are you using?

There are no analog outputs on the Vortex 2 external connectors for a stock mobo connection.
All Vortex 2 cards are model 8830, do you have an MX300? SQ2500? Montego II? They each have a different connection topology.

Turtle Beach I believe, not at home so can't check on the serial/model number. It's an "angular" card not a rectangle like diamond if that helps.

Sound like you have the popular Turtle Beach Montego II.
You would need a front panel connector that supports decoding I2S or S/PDIF input signals to have it work. I don't know of any off hand.

Thanks ZanQuance, it just means I'll have to get some new headphones with a longer cord no big deal.
