I have a Matsushita CR-523, single-speed CD-ROM attached to a CT1600 SBP2 and it isn't recognized by SBCD.sys or 56XDOS. It spins and lights up fine (even during detection), but the light turns off and detection fails. I read in another thread that it may be possible to replace the firmware chip, but I don't have a working firmware if that's my problem. Any thoughts?
