Just bought a sb pro 2.0 today. I'm using freedos and a PC with a 266 mhz p2 and a second video card and 64mb ram. Every time I set the variables it won't work and says conflicting irq channels but sometimes when the irq is set to 7 it plays loud choppy audio for the sfx on Duke nukem test then won't boot to the game. However adlib audio is fine. Can anyone help?

Make sure you don't have the IRQ you are using for the sound card assigned to something else.

IRQ7 is usually the Parallel port.

IRQ5 could be something else. You will just have to look in the computer BIOS to make sure you free up the IRQ you want to use for the SB Pro 2.0

The Adlib mode works fine because it doesn't use an IRQ.

Hi @fadedrobin, which setting did you change in the BIOS? I'm having issues with my ES688F card. It produces very loud/bloated sounds, but it's quiet at the same time. Although it could be a HW-error, I still haven't given up on it ...
