I have an old Aztech Sound Galaxy NX Pro that has Disney Sound Source, Covox Speech Thing, 2 CD ROM controllers (Matsushita and Panasonic separate), and, get ready for this: Genuine OPL3. I repaired the card numerous of times due to accidentally breaking the traces, and replaced the old, broken volume pot last year, and I decided to get it out of storage to clean it off since I had excess flux on the board. However, when I cleaned the volume pot since it was sticking, I turned the wheel and it's spinning freely when it hits the small spot that stops the volume wheel from spinning excessively.

When I get home from work, I'm going to spin the wheel again and see what happens. Another note, I don't see anything that broke and the volume pots were shipped from overseas and are not being sold here in the US. Would spraying too much contact cleaner cause the volume pot to slip past the notch that prevents the wheel from spinning around the full 360?

There's a little screw on top that secures the wheel to the adjustment bits. Tightening the screw will fix this problem.

I did tighten the screw. My eye sight cannot tell where the wheel goes onto as the wheel itself looks like there are more spots on there to put the wheel on (supposed to be a small spot, but it ain't any longer). I have a Sound Blaster 16 CT1740 that I can take the wheel off of it and see if it matches.

Edit: I thought the screw was tightened, and it wasn't, plus, the wheel wasn't on right. I re-aligned the wheel, tightened the screw, and it's working. Thank you very much. I'll test this card with the Socket 370 board I'm planning on selling to someone with the ATX-ATX w/ -5VDC adapter, 428.1MB HDD with MS-DOS 6.22 with some games, the drivers for the sound card, and if all's well, then I'll be a happy guy.

Well, now the sound card has another issue: no audio out. Time to reflow the solder and replace the line out with a new one.
