Say I have a Win XP box. Is it easy to test a PCI sound card, with a wavetable daughterboard?
Eg Diamond MX300 with say a Yamaha DB50XG.
Thanks a lot for any comments.

It should be easy.
AFAIR XP was the last Windows where you could easily change the default MIDI device in the sound settings.
