Holy crap, I am SO going to build this. But the component count on this one is really... massive! I think I am NOT going to provide kits for this. But if anyone wants to join in an order of PCBs from JLCPCB, I am all ears. 😉

10 PCBs with enig gold finish, chamfered edge connector will come out at roughly 40 EUR, plus 25 EUR shipping.

Any takers? I would personally want two PCBs. But other than that...

So.. since this has the sockets for the CMS chips, and the model number silkscreened is CT-1320C, it is technically a Sound Blaster 1.5 replica.

Anyway, I already have an original but would like to compare the output with the replica. I wonder if it will be cleaner due to new caps.

And the name is awesome as well.

I noticed this on the github page about the firmware:

2There are two ways to get a programmed 80C51 chip for the Snark Barker. One is to purchase a SB 2.0 DSP chip from China and put it in a 44-PLCC to 40-DIP adapter. This works fine and provides the largest feature set.

4Another option is to buy a blank Atmel 89S51 (as listed in the BOM) and program it with this HEX file.

what is this "SB 2.0 DSP chip from China" , anyone knows?!
