Hey guys,

So I just bought a Roland SC-55mkII on ebay tonight from Japan and was wondering where you guys find the gameport to midi cable? I see a couple options from China but I try to avoid buying from China since it takes too long to get here and usually not very good quality. I ended up buying this:
https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https … %2F113645904795

comes from Europe, has anybody used these? wasn’t cheap but even the china ones aren’t that cheap either.

any opinions on the cable I bought or anybody have North American source for midi cables? love to hear what you guys are using since this is my first MIDI device

Hi, I've got a Gameport to MIDI cable, but I have no vlue where I got it from. Sorry, hah. 😅
However, there's some tip - If possible use a MIDI cable with built-in opto couplers.
They prevent several issues, since both the computer and the MIDI device are fully separated from each others.
Thus, noise, ground loops, wrongly inserted DIN plugs (IN/OUT) won't damage any of the devices.
Anyway, I'm no MIDI expert. Just read about these things years ago. Good luck! 😀

Thanks for the tip. Looks like the one I got from ebay does mention having that protection 😀

I read the ebay seller’s feedback and looks like he makes good cables and people are happy so I probably got a good one, too bad I couldn’t find anything in North America, as I wouldn’t mind picking up another cable as backup or as another option
