Does anyone have any experience with the Yamaha Audio Wave cards?

Searched for info online but can't seem to find an awful lot, apart from this link:

Putting together a decent 486 DOS gaming machine and thinking about the right card for the job out of what I current have in my collection.

How would it compare to say a SB16, SB32 or AWE64?

That particular card requires -5V to function and it has a design flaw where DC blocking capacitors are omitted on WB header so with most WB daughterboards you'll only get very distorted sound.
There's also a stereo enhancement circuit that cannot by bypassed.

As far as sound standards go, it does SBpro2, OPL3, MPU-401, WSS and GamePort. Like most other SB compatibles, it cannot do SB16. Sound quality wise it is among the better cards.
