Hello,

I'm not sure if anyone could help with this specific issue in the first place, but it seems like there's a lot of know-how in this thread..

For quite some time I am emulating games on my Windows pc for the Sharp X68000 (emulator: XM6). I'd prefer the physical machine but that's not an option as I do not have the space. Many games support external sound cards like the Yamaha TG-100 (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wgtkTvWOrIo&t=218s) and Roland MT-32 (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EoMdZJxJSVk). These cards improve the already great built-in sound by a lot.

My question is if it's possible to emulate these sound cards alongside with the X68000 emulator or even use a physical Yamaha / Roland box, if the X68000 emulator recognises and works with that?

Not that usual kind of question, I know. But perhaps someone has experience with a similar issue..

Anyway, thank you in advance and stay well. Cheers!

Those videos are mine. 😀 All emulators support MIDI afaik. They typically just output to Windows default MIDI device. A USB-MIDI cable, or even a soft synth like MUNT is fine. Though some games support some fancier modules like CM64.

You do have to configure the emulated x68000 to have a MIDI interface board installed, but this means going to the MIDI tab and selecting 1 instead of 0.

Modules: CM-64, CM-500, SC-55MkII, SC-88 Pro, SY22, TG100, MU2000EX, PLG100-SG, PLG150-DR, PLG150-AN, SG01k, NS5R, GZ-50M, SN-U110-07, SN-U110-10, Pocket Studio 5, DreamBlaster S2, X2, McFly, E-Wave, QWave, CrystalBlaster C2, Yucatan FX, BeepBlaster
