Any tips on how to prevent Vortex2 drivers automatically trying to load the dos driver? I have a Diamond MX300 Vortex2 PCI sound card installed along a YMF 718 ISA sound card. The Vortex2 is only needed for Windows, but the driver insists on loadind au30dos.com from autoexec.bat and dosstart.bat. It even places the lines back after I manually delete them, which is ridiculous. I installed the driver without selecting the DOS driver option, but it still annoyingly tries to load the file, even though au30dos is not installed.

there's a package that installs just the windows side of things, without the dos compatiblity and/or sb emulation.

i've had to use it myself and it works as intended.

do a complete uninstall of the aureal drivers first then start again with one of those packages in the link.
