Hello to the VOGONS comunity,

I was wondering about this Sound Blaster AWE32, model CT2760 I got.

All the Sound Blaster cards I own that have a CT1747 chip have the OPL logo on them, except this one.

After looking this up on the internet, my understanding is that the CT1747 chip is some sort of bus controller with a licenced OPL core from Yamaha, so it (should) sound the same as a discrete OPL.

Some webs even go as far as to provide schematics of the OPL wiring, and I noticed it is usually coupled with a dual DAC (TDA1387).

After close inspection, I noticed this CT2670 card does have a CT1747 on it, but it doesn't have the OPL logo, nor the TDA1387 chip.

I couldn't find any CT1978, so I'm fairly sure it doesn't have the Creative CQM synthesis.

Could anyone shed some light on this issue of mine? Is this card missing the OPL? Is it possible that Creative has integrated their CQM feature inside some other chip than the CT1978?

Thank you for your time reading this.
