Hello,

I am having an issue where Creative CT4670 (with drivers installed from proper OEM CD supplied by Vogons) works fine in Windows 98SE, but not with DOS games like Doom 2.

CT4670 is the SoundBlaster Live! Value OEM edition. I get conflicting messages if it's the Live! 24-bit edition or not.

Currently, I am able to setup the Music in Doom 2 to either MIDI or SoundBlaster 16 and it works fine, however the FX sounds are missing (they work using the beeper on the mobo). In Doom 2 settings I matched the SB Port, IRQ and so on to the one mentioned under SB 16 Emulator in Device Manager. I don't even know if they are supposed to be set to the same values, since both MIDI and the whole manual setup of interrupts was a little bit before my time.

I only have the headphones hooked up to audio output. Do I need other external devices for this to work? In the Device Manager there's 8bit DMA and 16bit DMA, which one is used by games (or at least Doom 2)?

What could be causing an issue?
