You should probably get a different card if you want Windows 9x/ME support .

well dang. no chance of a audigy driver working?
in theory my friend was supposed to have hooked me up with his audigy 2 zs and I Ram drive but he hasn't been able to yet. I shouldn't have trouble with those in ME right?

No driver meant for a an EMU 10K2 or EMU 10K2.5 will work on CA0106 CA0106 based Audigy SE . The only hope you might have is if the Windows 2000 or Windows XP driver for the Audigy SE happens to work in Windows ME . All the aforementioned OSes support WDM drivers, but not all WDM work on an all OSes . AFAICR, somebody here tried installing an XP WDM driver for CA1006 CA0106 based card on a Windows 9x or ME machine and there was sound but it was garbled and unusable .

AFAIK, the Audigy 2 ZS does have drivers that work with Windows 98 SE and ME http://vogonsdrivers.com/getfile.php?fileid=1130&menustate=0
Also AFAIK, the I RAM only uses the PCI bus for power and, from a data transfer standpoint, connects to a PC through SATA, so no specific drivers are required for it for any OS . As long as the SATA controller that you are using is supported by your OS, it should work fine .
My audigy 2 zs works great in windows 98. I found the driver in the vogons library. You will want to manually install the vxd version from device manager. Only problem I have had with it is that sound will reset to about 80% level after ever reboot which blows out my ear drums 😜.
