Hi I have a sound card that I think was supplied with a pre built machine, the Fujitsu Myrica somewhere in the late 90s.

It is probably not that good but I want to try what I believe is the original setup of the machine before I change any parts.

It is some kind on Aureal Vortex 1 low cost card, probably made by aztech.

Layout seems ok, sound quality should be nice, but it won't have quite the same 3d sound abilities as Vortex 2 card.

These drivers should get it going,

Good for windows 98 systems, but DOS compatibility can be a bit weak. Does soundblaster compatibility ok, but terrible OPL3 emulation.

Yeah it's an aztec alright. I'll try the drivers later thanks!

Yeah DOS support is prolly not amazing. But I want to know what I'm going from before I make any upgrades. Maybe even suffer through a game with it. I was actually pleasantly surprised by aureal vortex 1 in Drakan with a different card.

That card has the worst FM emulation that I had ever heard and makes CQM look decent in comparison. Used to have one of these card that had the Turtle Beach brand.

The gameport should use the 201h port. Does ASP4DOS report this during initialization?
