Hi froods
I've been looking at writing some game music for the Adlib card for a game running under DOS, and I'm currently at the border between music and the game code.
So far I've found good (if daunting) information regarding bare metal programming from the code side (ie writing data directly to the card registers and basically writing a bespoke music solution) and using the ROL format with the Adlib TSR program, which I know is how some commercial games handled music. Historically, were there any other approaches to interfacing musicians with game development?
