I started playing Gabriel Knight last night, and I noticed that seemingly when the game was reading data off the CD there would be some pops in the audio. I'm wondering if anyone else has run into this and if you have any idea how I could go about fixing it. I don't remember the exact model of SB16 I have in that machine, but I know I chose one I researched to have the fewest number of problems, and I have it in a generic 486 computer that I cobbled together.

I've attached a sound recording I made of the phenomenon. You can hear that almost as soon as the CD spins up there's a series of two pops before a voice line is played.

Edit: Oh, as I recall this is one of those SB16's with the built-in CD controller, but I'm not using that feature of it as it's apparently incompatible with most IDE drives.
