Greetings,
I have an old Dell Optiplex GX100 SFF system running NT4 and 98SE. I would like to know if its possible to get my Creative Audigy (sb0090) working in NT4? It works great in 98SE but I am unable to get any drivers I have found for NT4 to work. This PC has no onboard sound.
I found a reference to it possibly working here:
https://bearwindows.zcm.com.au/winnt4.htm about halfway down the page it mentions " SciTech Software SNAP Audio for NT4" but when I run that app it says no supported hardware found.
; Creative Labs (Ensoniq on old PCI cards)
1 1102:0002 sblive.drv ; SB Live! / PCI 512
1 1102:0004 sblive.drv ; SB Audigy
1 1102:0006 sblive.drv ; SB Live! (Dell)
1 1102:0007 sblive.drv ; SB Audigy LS
1 1102:0008 sblive.drv ; SB Audigy 2
1 1274:1371 sbpci.drv ; SB PCI
1 1274:5880 sbpci.drv ; SB PCI

System SPECS:
Celeron 466 Socket 370
512MB SDRAM

Any info would be appreciated!
Thanks

when u go to the driver page on creative site they have nt4 listed in the drop down menu but when u select it there is no downloads.

they have windows 2000 drives those may work.

best bet would be try downloading the image for the driver cd off the vogons driver library and see if that will install it.

if that don't work u will probably need an older card like a live witch does seem to have nt drivers. nt was never really used for gaming so creative probably never cared much to make drivers for it.

NT4 doesn't support WDM so W2K/W98/ME drivers are unlikely to work.

From a quick look it seems the Audigy CD on the driver library contains NT4 drivers , see directory /Audio/Drivers/NT40/ : https://www.vogonsdrivers.com/getfile.php?fileid=397 .
Or just try to install the CD as usual, looks like NT4 is supported as per the min reqs.
