Hi everyone !
I was wondering if we can find somewhere a list with all the Toshiba portable computers/laptops with a genuine Yamaha DOS compatible soundcard inside ?
Like this one :
Toshiba 2805-s402 Ultimate retro gaming laptop

I began some years ago a list of DOS sound compatible hardware here : https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/18X3ux … #gid=1535292518
You may find some answers, and we can add together some items, just ring me 😀

Best regards
Philippe Dubois

Toshiba Portege 3020CT has YMF719 in it and works good in DOS. Sound quality is ass though, lot of "thinking" noises.

It is due to no regard to avoiding digital currents passing analog references. There are no aging components in the machine, all solid capacitors and whatnot. I even tried to do some mods to rule it out but it comes from just really poor layout. It is a very small machine with incredibly cramped motherboard, packed full of parts. Ultrabook of its time pretty much 🤣

Toshiba/Dynabook still lists all datasheets of old notebooks. Someone extremely bored might want to go model by model and list them somewhere 😀
Sat Pro 440 for example: https://support.dynabook.com/support/staticCo … omTOCLink=false

As an engineer I always strive to find the laziest approach to solve a problem 😀, so I found a shortcut:
Drivers page for 440CDT included "OS/2 Sound driver for Yamaha OPL3-SAx".
And it listed "all applicable models":

You are welcome.

One more Sony to add to list, contain clear Yamaha YMF-744 chip:

Sony Vaio PCG-Z505JE (PIII 500Mhz , 12.1"TFT, MagicMedia 256AV+ 3Mb) great, very powerfull machine

It is not entirely clear what problems could be with Maestro-2E, most games work fine with this card.
