My really crappy Sound Blaster AudioPCI is only putting out sound through the right channel, and I'd been wanting to replace it anyway, so I've been looking at getting an SB Live! card as a replacement. The games I play on this system (Pentium III 800 + Voodoo3 2000 PCI) are all Windows games from the late 90s up to about 2001, so I'm not looking for DOS compatibility, but I am interested in EAX technology. Do all versions of the Live! support EAX? Thanks in advance.

There was an OEM Dell one that used a different chip that lacked DirectSound acceleration and EAX support. The SB Live 24-bit has software-based EAX.

You can see a list of the different versions and what makes them different here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sound_Blaster_L … _Live!_Dell_OEM

Here the Audigy 1 and 2s are pretty much the same price as Lives. Those are slightly better cards with extra features. If the prices is close for you, you might want one of those instead of a Live.
