I have bought two Audigy 2 ZS cards in the past week: one with colored connectors, and one with gold connectors. Neither one of them has any serial number on them other than SB0350. The driver install CD would not detect either of them. Manually installing (by extracting the VxD.cab and pointing Add New Hardware to it) the one with the gold connectors nearly bricked my Windows 98 SE install; I had to delete the device manually in safe mode. The colored connector one did let me install manually, and even though I switched to the VxD driver and installed EAX Console, I can not use EAX in any software. The console gives me an error stating it did not find a compatible audio device. Am I about to have to buy a third card? Preferably, is there an EAX-compliant PCI Sound Blaster with a driver installer that actually functions?

What driver CD are you using?

There's one posted to VogonsDrivers which might work: https://www.vogonsdrivers.com/getfile.php?fileid=510

Phil also has a stripped down Audigy 2 ZS driver to use with Live cards, that might work for you: https://www.philscomputerlab.com/sound-blaster-live.html
