Hi guys,
I recently picked up an avance logic al sl 100 at a yard sale.
I took it home and plopped it Into an old 386 pc.
I downloaded and Installed the drivers from the driver library and all is fine - except for the fm sound.
In the test program it tests the 8&16 bit fine but when I select the fm test it’s first a loud hiss and then some of the notes I can hear but very distorted and completely unlistenable.
Is this something like an amplifier problem? I tried replacing a few of the caps near the fm chips (ls245) (Yamaha opl clone) but same result.
Anyone else ever happen to have a similar issue with a sound card? And if so, maybe you could share some experiences here? Would be great so I can try something else to try get it playing properly.
Seems like a cheap clone but it has a cool feature where it passes the pc speaker sound through the sound card. (Never had a card that did that before without routing via cables)
Here is a short video of the problem.
WARNING IT GETS LOUD! Watch out headphone users! 😀

Many thanks,
