what exactly is the purpose of this tool? oddly enough in the windows option a 4.0 setup seems to have been auto-selected after installing the drivers even though i only have 2.0 speakers, but in this creative tool 2.0 speakers are selected. there doesn't seem to be much information out there about this one...

It's basically speaker setup + mixer + EAX presets rolled into one tool. You can find more info about it in the SBLive 5.1 manual, which is still available on Creative's website.
