Hi,

I am currently trying to get sound to work in Windows 3.11

I already got it working under MS-DOS 6.11:
Sound Blaster PCI 128 Initialization Driver, Ver 5.23
Copyright(c) 1998-1999, Creative Labs., All Rights Reserved

fname: C:\DOS\SB\SBPCI.INI
SB PCI @ Port 6100, IRQ 10
Output Mode is Analog
Initialization Complete

These are being loaded with SBLOAD and SBINIT.COM the and SBTEST.EXE seems to be working and producing sound.

However, in Windows 3.11 no sound.

What I already tried:
- Standard WFWG sound blaster drivers: they are for the non PCI cards correct? I got a card not found on these ones. (SET BLASTER=A220 I5 D1 H7 P330 T6 seems to be added to AUTOEXEC.BAT by the DOS drivers, but when using Port 220 and Interrupt 5 in Windows driver it says: The port setting does not match the card)
- apiwiz31 & 7501748, driver packages: doesn't seems to be doing much except kill the autoexec.bat config which I got working under DOS. I can't see a driver being added to Windows 3.11.

Anyone any idea how to get this card working under Windows 3.11?

You can try dedicated driver for SBPCI128 from here: http://turkeys4me.byethost4.com/programs/?i=2 - 1st link

There is also official driver for Ensoniq AudioPCI (1370 chipset) from gateway http://web.archive.org/web/20160723111444if_/ … way/7501748.exe

Thanks for your reply, I tried the first link but when installing the TSR program and adding the sound driver, Windows 3.11 won't start anymore and will keep hanging on a grey screen.

The official Ensoniq drivers, I tried (7501748 package). But unless I am doing something wrong, running these drivers doesn't do really much except invoke an installer with not much results. After a restart sound is still greyed out in the sound settings and no additional drivers can be found in the drivers section.

Should I add the driver afterwards? Can't seem to find it listed in the configuration.
