So I don't really have a better sound card for my Pentium Pro setup since my Vibra 16 apparently just doesn't wanna work so I threw in my TBSC. I know the card works since I was using it in a different pc until that one developed motherboard issues and had no issues in games. However in my Compaq Proliant 850R it works fine in windows but any Directsound application it immediately causes either a system lockup or a blue screen. I've tried drivers from both an iso of the original driver cd and the ones on Philscomputerlabs' website but neither seem to make any difference in it working or not. I've attached pictures of the blue screens it causes if it's any help.

Have you tried both VXD and WDM drivers? It has both available.

These are the drivers I use with my card. I got them from Turtle Beach when they still hosted them.

sc_4193.exe (WDM drivers for 98SE-XP)

s481me9x.zip (VXD drivers for 95-Me)

It's also possible you are seeing chipset incompatibility or a problem with interaction with another PCI card/device.

I can give the WDM drivers a try. The only other pci card is a Voodoo 1 in there, it has an integrated Cirrus Logic 2d video card, some sort of SCSI controller and an Intel 440FX chipset. I've tried tweaking some of the IRQs in the bios setup but it didn't help anything
