We all know Creative is a Singaporean company and most Sound Blaster cards were made in Singapore, but mine was different:

Searching the web gave me very limited info about Avid rebadging Sound Blaster cards (namely, here and here on VOGONS, followed by discussions between GL1zdA and HanJammer), but I've still got a few questions:

  1. I bought my SBP2 new in retail box like this one; I understand if the rebadged card comes with Avid products or OEM, but retail box?
  2. Looks like Avid had rebadged SB, SBP1, and SBP2; what was its relationship with Creative? I noticed that all those cards were made in Taiwan instead of Singapore; was Avid a second source or simply outsourced to another PCB manufacturer in Taiwan?
  3. Is that Avid the same Avid today known for their professional audio/video products?
