Hello, I am having an issue in dos with the FX game sounds in DOOM. I am using a K7S5A motherboard which appears to be a Rev 1.0 I can't find any photos of it. It has a yellow PCB but the official Elite Group Rev3.1 Drivers work. Regardless I am stuck I am using Phil's Audigy 2 ZS drivers for Live! package from his website I have another computer with the same card and drivers that the FX sound works I assume the issue is with the motherboard. I have provided the CPUZ files a SIV text file dump and the AUTOEXEC and CONFIG.SYS files below any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi !
In your Autoexec.bat this is weird :
SET CTSYN=C:\WINDOWS
C:\PROGRA~1\CREATIVE\DOSDRV\SBEINIT.COM

I mean CTSYN should point to the drivers folder :
SET CTSYN=C:\PROGRA~1\CREATIVE\DOSDRV
C:\PROGRA~1\CREATIVE\DOSDRV\SBEINIT.COM

Also make sure you have the last drivers. I think it's SB16 v5.00
See SB Audigy SB0090 DOS support
(drivers for SB Live and SB Audigy are compatibles)

From memory, SB16 v4.00 has bugs with fast CPUs.

Can't get it to work with that change it won't load the drivers.

What message is displayed just after driver loading ?
If you cannot see because of Windows starting, press the F5 key repeatedly at boot time, then choose "6. Command prompt only" in the menu.

It might be :

error: PCI device detect failed: Device not found.
Creative SB16 Emulation Driver NOT loading.

error: Memory Manager not detected.
Creative SB16 Emulation Driver requires EMM386 or similar.
Creative SB16 Emulation Driver NOT loading.

error: Config file is incomplete.
SBPort
Creative SB16 Emulation Driver NOT loading.

error: SB IRQ conflicting with PCI IRQ.
Creative SB16 Emulation Driver NOT loading.

error: Could not allocate code/patch RAM.
Creative SB16 Emulation Driver NOT loading.

Otherwise, if the driver loads :

Creative Audio @ Port ****, IRQ 11
Initialization Complete.

In that last case, you can type the following commands :
cd C:\PROGRA~1\CREATIVE\DOSDRV
SBEGO.EXE
It's a program which let you test the different emulations FM / SB
