I'm reading a lot of mixed opinions on what's actually needed.
I'm gonna use a sound card plus softMPU, optoinsulation comes up quite a bit of times, so I'm gonna ask, do I need a special cable or just a simple gameport to midi with 4 wires?

If the latter simple cable is enough you can also drop the correct schematic and I'm gonna make my own.

You should just need a gameport->MIDI cable. This assumes a standard sound card joystick port and standard MIDI implementation.

If you're looking to hook up both sound modules at the same time, you can look for cables with multiple MIDI outputs. The alternative would be a joystick->MIDI with a single output and then an additional box like a MIDI Solutions Thru.

I'm fine with a single device at a time, do you have the pinout for a simple gameport to midi?
Also by standard midi implementation you mean a sound card with MPU-401?

The soundcard in question is this one https://www.philscomputerlab.com/hp-mm-pro-16v-a.html

I don't have the pinout schematic offhand.

And yes, I mean a standard MPU-401 implementation with a standard pinout.

Ok, if anybody can post the schematics would help me quite a bit, it seems that i don't need Ani optoinsulator, so the schematics for a simple game port to midi would suffice.

This ended up working well, i will leave it here for other people in need.

The RA-50 sounds perfect, it's only really quiet, i'm sending the output (ts connectors) from the ra-50 to the line-in of the soundcard to mix the signals, is it normal?
