I was looking for a cheap but decent ISA sound card, and I found this one: https://www.cnaweb.com/isa-16-bit-sound-card.aspx as one of the first results on Google Shopping. The photo showed an ESS logo on the chip, so I ordered one. Here's what I got for $16.20 including shipping. It arrived new in the box, with the original instructions and driver disk. I haven't installed it yet, but it looks like exactly what I was looking for.

Seems that's useful for America only, but good find none the less. Obviously cheap/generic little cards but they're period correct at least, not the dodgy new things that appear on ebay. Keen to hear how you go with it.
