Hi Team,

Looking for a working driver this. Laptop is a Toshiba TE2000

PCI\VEN_10B9&DEV_5451&SUBSYS_00011179&REV_01

I have found a few around, ranging from AC97 drivers to ALI Chipset style drivers. a few will install fine, and will have speaker and audio controls buttons but still no audio.

ALi WDM Audio Driver for Windows 98SE/2000 - p4ksnd2.exe, is from DYNABOOK directly but its a dead link. ive tried searching the file name, but cant seem to find a working download.

Any help would be fantastic!!!

There's multiple files here, but they seem wrapped in some 3rd-party driver install program... https://www.soundcard-drivers.com/companies/1 … thx=9&bng=7&o=3

You might also try this -> https://rebyte.me/it/toshiba/11068/file-26509/ (different model# but perhaps all the same)

www.soundcard-drivers.com, and a few other do the same. They claim to have it. But cant install that program on 98 🤣. scam scam scam!! haha

Ill try this other one you linked and report back!

This file is the software modem driver.
Would i need this for the sound to work?

i ask, because if i install the ALI WDM driver, new hardware wizard finds this software modem, but cant install. And the sound doesnt work even tho sound control slider and all is there.

Hello

Realise this is a slightly older thread, but I've just got an 1800-S254 and have got the sound working!

I needed two files:

p4ksnd2.exe (I got this from the Italian site linked above)
aliw2kme98.zip (which I got from https://www.driverguide.com/driver/detail.php … 4E6npi&frmist=1)

That link should start an automatic download. I installed aliw2km98 first and then the other. I have sound now but still an 'unknown device' for the software modem, which seems odd given that's what the P4K package is supposed to be for.

Hopefully this helps you or someone else searching for a solution!
