The advice for replacing the MPU401.MDI file in this long forgotten post: https://www.vogons.org/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=33173 works for Privateer 2: The Darkening.

Using the file supplied in the above post I replaced the file in the C:\DARK dir and it removed the crash after the origin logo at launch when setting the music to GM. This was using dosbox-staging via flathub on SteamDeck.
