Building a Win95 with intent of basic Win95 and Win95 MS-DOS mode gaming. Not for serious gaming but more for curiosity and nostalgia.
System specs TX97-X, Pentium 200, 98MB RAM, Number Nine Reality 332 video card and ESS1868F sound card.
My ESS1868F sound card is working in Win95. Next step is to get the sound card working in DOS. Thanks to Vogons, I found the DOS drivers and tried installing.
But once I installed the DOS drivers, I realized that I don't know how to test if the installation worked.
I'm looking for help with locating programs that I can run in WIn95 DOS-Mode that will help me test the sound card. Maybe DOS games like Doom or midi sounds?
Kind of stuck. I never gamed in DOS and have limited DOS experience so this is area. Any help would be appreciated. thx

Well, Doom is a good choice for testing both Adlib and SB.

I don't know about Steam but the GOG version has the original files.
