Sound through Nvidia HDMI in Windows XP

I am struggling with getting sound output through Nvidia HDMI output to a OLED TV in Windows XP.

I have tried three different computers with different Nvidia cards and audio drivers, but all of the are behaving the same.
All drivers are installed, but the sound output through HDMI is not showing up in Audio settings.

Is this a common problem in Windows XP? Does anybody have a solution?

it's down to the video card driver package. what nvidia driver version are you using? i have a laptop with a nvidia quadro nvs 160m and even thru a displayport to hdmi adapter i still get audio output over hdmi in winxp.
