I knocked off a capacitor when fitting this SB16 CT2900 into an ISA slot. It has been in my attic for a good 20 years.

Capacitor is labelled C7 and it is next to the edge ISA connector pins.
Just wondering what this is likely for in that part of the card and will it damage the card if used as is. I tried the card in Dos and it still works.

If you know the capacitance and voltage rating of the capacitor you knocked off you may replace it. It may not be too important for the card's overall functionality, however.

My CT2950 also had a capacitor knocked off (the one near the ISA connector key, to the right of the cap you highlighted) and I did not notice it until I did the mod to replace the DSP with a new MCU containing bugfixed DSP firmware. I replaced it with a slightly larger one that has the same capacitance (10uF) but with higher voltage rating (50V). The card has always been working fine, even when the cap was broken.
