Hello!

Is it possible to upgrade RAM to 2Mb on Creative Sound Blaster AWE64 CT4380?
Of course, I can change memory chip, but there are no "jumper" resistors near the memory chip.
Maybe this can be done in EEPROM? Or 512K is hardcoded and nothing can be done.

Thanks!

I presume that you likely already looked here Creative AWE64 CT4500 upgraded to 2MB of RAM (or somewhere similar) and your card is different from those shown.

Maybe you could share some photos of your CT4380, especally the RAM area ? I probably will not be able to help based on these but someone else might.

While more expensive, this https://www.serdashop.com/SIMMCONN is probably much easier and can give you up to 28MB of RAM.

And it does NOT look like the 4380 has the required 2 extra contacts for the bigger RAM.

But the new memory chip has 2 extra contacts.

They may be wired to the EMU but that will look ugly on this board.

You're right. I didn't notice that my CT4500 has a 22 pin chip and the CT4380 has a 20 pin chip.
Question closed 🙁 Thank you!
