VESATEST simply lists the VESA version (1.2, 2.0, etc.) and the supported resolutions and color depth.

Is there a program that can test and/or benchmark VBE functions to see if they perform well, or if at all?

Hi, PC Player Benchmark uses VBE by default, I think.
A special switch is needed to run it in plain VGA (mode 13h).

VBETEST.EXE from UniVBE/SciTech Display Doctor.

Nie tylko, jak widzicie, w tym trudność, że nie zdołacie wejść na moją górę, lecz i w tym, że ja do was cały zejść nie mogę, gdyż schodząc, gubię po drodze to, co miałem donieść.

I know about VBETEST but it doesn't seem to work for some cards as far as I've tested (AMD ones I think). At least it can be made work for nVidia including newer cards, albeit crippled.

Ideally, I'd like to see a tool that could list supported VBE functions on a given card and then adequately test the functions with some necessary descriptions about their expected behaviors as well as behaviors that are considered wrong. I've tried FalcoSoft's VBEVSTST (which is for Function 07), but I'm not sure if my Fermi-based card (Quadro 2000) is behaving correctly, as in some cases the screen would become completely garbled, despite the function indeed worked.

Thanks, somehow I missed that when searching for a VBE test, although it doesn't exactly do what I was looking for.

Yea, that's what I have in mind, a program that can list and test each specific function. I guess I have to settle for VBETEST for now.

X-VESA comes to mind. It displays information, can benchmark VRAM and test video modes.
Not sure if it can test specific functions, though. 🤷

Another benchmark that comes to mind is GBench. Though again, it doesn't really test VBE functions.
It gives a performance information regarding the different drawing operations, though.
Lines, rectangles, bit blits etc. Also supports mode 13h, I believe.

Found at daryldixonretro site.
