I like the idea of a quad GPU setup with 2 duel GPU cards, more for the technology then for the gaming performance but was very much out gaming during this era and know some things have changed (like no longer needing Nvidia chipsets) so asking here so,

Which chipsets support Quad SLI and WinXP?

I know even less about ATI side of the fence
Which was the last WinXP duel GPU ATI card?
I think ATI were more relaxed and any motherboard with 2 PCI express sockets will work?

7900 GX2 and 7950 GX2 are the only cards that support QuadSLI on XP.
Any SLI capable chipset should work with them though.

Yeh, found that out AFTER getting a pair of 590's few years back. I thought just having XP drivers meant it was supported.

Looking into the AMD side of things it looks like XP is supported up to HD 8000 series does that sound correct?
In which case the HD 7990 would be the last duel GPU card but would 2 of these in WinXP be supported?
