Man, you guys are brave trying to solder RAM chips onto boards like this. I'm not sure I'd have the cajones to even attempt that. I'd be afraid of damaging/ruining these relatively expensive old cards that nobody makes anymore.
Good job fixing the card with the bad caps. That, at least, I might have attempted. But I had trouble doing a re-cap of one of my old motherboards so I paid a guy in another state to do it for me and he did GOOD work. It's working like it's brand-new. But it was expensive. Like, over $100 expensive. I don't remember even paying that much for the board when it was brand new. (That's probably why the caps went bad in the first place.)
