Title says it all.
I have a Sony Trinitron Multiscan 220GS, and it's out of focus. Not a lot, just enough so that you notice it pretty badly on any resolution higher than maybe 640x480. Low resolutions, such as used by DOS games, look just fine, but when using Windows, you really want that 800x600 or 1024x768 resolution, and it's pretty blurry.
I found the focus controls (horiz and vert): they're accessible through a couple of holes in the side of the case. I was able to adjust them while the CRT was on using an all-plastic screwdriver poked through the holes. But as it turns out, they were already in their optimal positions! No amount of adjusting them makes it any better. If anything I got it very slightly better.
Adjusting the color convergence results in the same conclusion; it's already as good as it can be.
So what do I do? Should I open it up and try to replace capacitors or something?
