I only use flatscreens, apart for my Super Nintendo (RGB CRT monitor), but that doesn't count over here 😀

My 'retro' screens:

- 17'' LCD Eizo Flexscan S1701
- 17'' LCD HP 1740
- 17'' LCD wide screen Sony MFM-HT75W

These screens are pretty old now but have VGA and DVI inputs which is ideal for 90's and early 00's pc's. The Eizo and HP are from 2007 I believe, the HP is the best one and the Eizo screen is a little dark, might have seen many hours already. The Sony, which is a monitor & tv, is from 2006 and has a few dead pixels. All these monitors support various resolutions and frequencies. And more important perhaps, they all fit on my desk 😊

On my main desk setup, I have three monitors which include:
- A Dell M782 17" CRT Monitor (1024x768) for my Dell Optiplex GX150 and possibly also my Slotket build once I get a PS/2 KVM switch.
- A Dell 1907FP 19" LCD Monitor (1280x1024) for my Athlon 64 build (VGA) and my HP DC7800 Win7 PC (DVI-D).
- A Samsung SyncMaster 940BW (1440x900) for my Mac Mini (VGA w/ adapter) and my temperamental Skylake build (DVI-D).

In my spares collection, I also have:
- A Dell M782p 17" CRT Monitor (suffers from a high-pitched noise from time to time, so may need a recap)
- A Sony Trinitron CPD-E240 17" CRT Monitor (my first computer monitor, still works)
- A Blue & White Apple Studio Display 15" LCD Monitor
- An NEC Accusync LCD5V 15" LCD Monitor (Beige model)
- Dell 1504FP 15" LCD Monitor (with DVI-D and VGA)
- Dell E171FP 17" LCD Monitor
- Dell 1704FP 17" LCD Monitor (with DVI-D, VGA, and a USB hub)
- Planar 17" 5:4 LCD Monitor*
- Acer X193w 19" 16:10 LCD Monitor*

*indicates monitors that are currently in storage.

Out of all the spare monitors, the Dell 1504FP gets the most usage on spare retro machines that are being used on my testing table.

For my PS/1, I use a ViewSonic VG-150 with a max res of 1024x768. Main reason being that the PC can only output a maximum resolution of 800x600, so everything looks really crisp on the display. I originally tried using a Samsung SyncMaster S23B550 (1080P widescreen), but the scaling was terrible so I stuck with the ViewSonic. The colors are amazing, and the screen doesn't hurt my eyes as easily as my LED ultrawide that I have now. Only gripe I have about it is the finicky power button, and the screen ghosting. This is all due to age though, and I can't really hold that against it.

I have a few CRT monitors stored in my attic knee-wall, but right now I use the following:

Main PC: BenQ XL2720Z 27" 144Hz 1080P TN LCD with blur reduction (works at 60Hz too which is great for older games)
Workbench: Dell 1907FP (reliable, looks okay, height adjustment... got it second hand for free)
Retro\Workbench: HP P1230 22" (basically identical to Mitsubishi DiamondPro 2070SB. Can do 2048x1536@85Hz... its a monster)
Workbench Alternative: Asus VW266H 25.5" LCD (wall mounted, don't really use it a whole lot anymore since the other two monitors work better for old systems)
Ancient: IBM 5153 (connected to my 5150 with an EGA card for the oldest DOS games I can find in 4 to 16 glorious colors)

Now for some blitting from the back buffer.

Not got the space for CRT, I have a nice one on the 8086 and a 'used' one on the 486, but I think I won't be investing in CRT for either the 286 or the 386 builds, and am likely to swap the old 486 CRT onto the 286 and got old VGA LCDs for the 386/486 as they will be running Windows.

I have the following setup (dont have model numbers). All are flat panel (4:3) screens, as I also dont have room for CRTs. I have a few CRT's in storage, including an old NEC Multisync, but they never come out.

19" LCD connected to an 8 port KVM
17" LCD connected to a 9 port KVM
17" LCD Connected to a 2 port KVM
15" LCD Connected to a Test Bench

I also have a 27" Apple Cinema Display with my Mac Pro, but I wouldnt call that Vintage or Retro yet....

Mostly an old Eizo19" and on rare occasions a 19" Belinea CRT for testing older stuff.
I may get two more CRTs(EIZO and SiliconGraphics - both 19" or 21") and then one of these will be used to playtest Doom maps on "authentic" hardware.
There's also an old 17" Acer LCD around and I have to admit that, albeit no having great colors, it has served me well.

I have an NEC aperture grille CRT with a great picture, but it turned up dead after a power outage. I'm holding onto it in the hope that I'll be able to fix it someday. It would be my ideal choice if it were working.

If I were to set up a retro PC right now for Win9x, then I'd probably use an HP LP2065 (20" 1600x1200 IPS). They're great monitors, but no good for DOS due to the totally fixed 60Hz refresh. They stutter at 70Hz, which I find bothersome in DOS VGA action games. In Windows 60Hz they look great, and scale very well IMO.
I've unexpectedly ended up with 4 of them, so I'll probably purge some lesser monitors. Might also try using one as a panel donor for a more interesting L2035 which has A/V inputs.

If I was going to run MSDOS I'd use one of my TN monitors, since they can display 70Hz properly. It would be either a 19" 1280x1024, or a 1360x768 Samsung (which crops to a 15" 1024x768).
I will need to remember the MSDOS issues when the next monitor purge happens, because otherwise I could just about dump all my TNs.

Slight tangent but I also keep some CRT TVs for old game consoles. I think I care more about those than I do about CRT computer monitors.

Main desktop a 25" Dell U2515H 1440p IPS monitor.

For retro rigs, a 20" Dell 2007fbp 1600x1200 monitor

I use a Sony Trinitron Multiscan GS200 (17" CRT) in the 486 for DOS.
And PHILIPS 190B (19" TFT) in my Pentium 4 with WinXP and is shared via KVM with my current PC.
I don't like the 16:9 screens in PC, I don't feel comfortable and the games that I play looks fine in 4:3 or 5:4.

I only have one crt left that is working. it is compaq P70 and it is usually connected to whatever is my main retro computer at that moment. I also have a small 4:3 LCD that I use when I am testing stuff. It is samsung syncmaster 151s.

I'm not a fan of CRT, so only LCDs here.

At the moment my test rig for old videocards is connected to 20'' HP LP2065 (1600x1200 IPS). And as a backup Acer AL2021 (also 20'' 1600x1200, not sure if IPS or VA).
And for older machines ViewSonic VP150m (15'' 1024x768) is a nice match.

For the past two years I've been using a 19" Lacie electronblue IV, an absolute beast of a monitor that I regret owning every time I have to move it somewhere else. But, it can even do 1920x1440, which is higher than even my main monitor can do and looks absolutely amazing.
I was given that monitor essentially for free, as the guy who gave it to me was clearing out some offices and he also had a 22" inch version which I kind of regret not getting, but then again I have no clue where that would have fit (and I can't even imagine how heavy it would have been).

The LP2065 uses an IPS panel. I have an LP1965 which uses a VA panel, but it still looks fantastic.

Besides a few really good Sony PVMs, I have two VGA monitors:

- A rebranded Sony GDM-17E21 in a very nice granite color with the old Silicon Graphics logo on the front.

- LaCie Electron 22 Blue IV, which had been rebranded a bunch of times. Can go up to 2048x1536@85Hz, although it's a bit blurry using Windows 10 and a GTX970. I do wonder if the RAMDACs on modern cards, in spite of pretty much all of them being 400MHz, are simply inferior in driving analog displays at high resolutions and refresh rates compared to those of the early 2000s.

For my retro setup so far it's a Medion MD1772JC 17" CRT. Runs 1024x768 @ 85 Hz and 1280x1024 @60 Hz.
Also got an HP D2842A 19" CRT in the basement. Runs 1280x1024 @ 85 Hz, 1600x1200 @ 75 Hz and can be forced to run 2048x1536 @ 60 Hz. But it's huge and heavy, so it's gonna stay there until I got the space for it to get back into action.
