For those Midas owners who stumble upon this thread, you can now also find the drivers from DriverGuide here. They've yet to be tested AFAIK:

A bit more info here:

I had already included those on Vogonsdrivers in my big PowerVR driver compilation, but I guess it doesnt hurt to upload them as single files too.

I assume that's a Midas 3 driver? Seeing as PCX1 and 2 are also Midas cards it might be confusing if you don't use the 3.

Yeah, that's what I'd attempted to upload, the drivers for Compaq's Midas 3 card. I'll correct the description when I can (I'm having trouble connecting right now.)

OK, so I got hold of a PCX2 😀 The card is small enough to fit in a shared PCI/ISA slot where the ISA part is in use. Pics: Re: Making use of shared PCI/ISA slots (PowerVR)

Would really like to get hold of the m3d CDs, the last upload seems to have expired. Would any kind soul be able to upload them again?

Actually the previous guy uploaded m3d CD 1.1 (if you want it, elianda?).

The other CD he uploaded was the bundled MDK CD. 😒

For me the download links do not work anymore.

Was there a problem with the MDK CD?
It contains MDK: Mission Laguna Beach wish is not the full game and a lot of game demos for the m3D.

Ahh someone told me it was the full game or the other disc had a full game, or else the CD would be on VogonsDrivers. Sorry if wrong...

I last posted in this thread a LONG time ago, reminiscing about my long since sold Matrox M3D...

And, well... Guess what I found at a local PC shop for $20?

th_2014-01-24_19-03-01_650.jpg

A working Matrox M3D! And to go with it I have built a Socket 7 system running Win95 OSR2.5 in a spare tower housing minus faceplate. An old PAR built POS server (a name that will ring a bell for anyone who deals with point-of-sale systems or has ever worked in quick foodservice in their lives) from work was given to me containing a somewhat rare Intel AN430TX motherboard and Pentium 166MHz with 16MB of EDO. After some ebaying, I bumped up the specs a bit to top levels supported by the board. Also a Canopus Pure3D 6MB is on it's way from China so I can actually enjoy the non-PowerVR specific titles and actually have a usable gaming machine circa 1997. It should be here by the end of the month.

th_2014-02-05_03-23-25_235.jpg

Complete specs as follows:

Intel Pentium MMX 233MHz
AN430TX ATX motherboard with 512KB L2 cache
Diamond Stealth 3D 2000 Turbo 4MB
Matrox M3D 4MB
Sound Blaster AWE32 PnP Model CT3670 (need 2x4MB 30 pin SIMMs for it though, no onboard memory!)
20GB Western Digital HDD
300W AGI ATX PSU
Windows 95 OSR2.5

Let the PCX2 fun BEGIN!

*NOTE: Sorry about the blurry cell phone pics, my hands were kinda shaky while taking them 🙁

Nice!

Could it maybe be an idea to attach the following picture to the upload?

It's not just drivers. The driver-cd also has tech-demos and other goodies.

Are we sure that everything on the CD is no longer under copyright protection?
