A big THANK YOU for the K6-3 scores! I've always wondered how well those processors would do in 3D'01 with something newer than a Voodoo.

The K6-3/TI4600 score is quite impressive. IIRC, my Katmai-550 only scored 3600-3800 with a much faster Radeon 9800 Pro.

a rig of 2013 is only 40% faster than mine of 2009, thats not very impressive. 🤣

Care to put that rig up against mine in Crysis 3? 🤣

Ok, I+ll just post scores, dont have screenshots.
1.4 SL6BY Tualatin @ 147 Mhz FSB
MSI 6309 Via Apolo 133A Board (modded cpu...)
3x512 CL2 PC 133 SDRAM
Radeon 9800 256mb pro - shitty one ! It got R360 GPU so i mod it to XT spec but the problem is that PCB is made only for 128bit memory. Basically
not a real PRO versio. And memory is only clocked to 250Mhz (DDR). Powerstip moved clocks to 425 for GPU and 265 for memory, stock fan...

Win XP home edition + SP2 +Dx9c with microsoft video drivers made a 9963 score !

Adding Catalys drivers (could not install SP3, something made error and instalation canceled) and reducing FSB back to original 133 made a
score of 8424 but new drivers really improved 3dMark'03 score !

Except this bad video card there are few more things that could improve the score..Does anyone know whats the max OC FSB on Tualatin based
VIA chipsets? 152, 155, 157, 166Mhz ? This board just won't go over 147, no matter what i do..

I wonder what the best possible score is that you could get using only hardware that was released before the end of 2001.

I think that just depends on the graphic card...I remember my configuration running Radeon 7500 (that's <2001 right? ) and scored 4600-4800.
Some tweaks could be possible with running T based chipset board, or OCing it, or OCing BX, but in my oppinion, 15 000 points like ultimate score.

But end of that year. Even GeForce 3 barely made it for the benchmark release.

GeForce3 Ti500 and Radeon 8500 would have both been out by the end of 2001. Given ATi's driver issues at that time, I would have to go with the GeForce for the best scores.

warp 9 to 2013...did anyone tried to run HD 3850 AGP in a socet 370 board? Couldnt find any relevant info..Does anyone got any info,
benchmarks, anything?

I've tried a few newer ATI cards in my p3 machine. The CPU/platform is too much of a bottleneck to make the newer cards worthwhile. In fact, the newer cards seem to add additional CPU overhead. With a Radeon x1950 or 3850 installed, my P3-1585 scores around ~10400 points in 3DMark01. A Radeon 9800 Pro, however, manages to pull down 11544 points on the same platform:

It doesn't matter which driver is used. On a P3, the old 9800 Pro is consistently faster than the newer cards in DX7 and 8 games. Of course, this all changes when you pair the cards with an A64 or a fast P4/AXP

Standard Def Steve, thank you !
So all i need now i proper 9800Pro..one i have i some fake/whyinthehelldidtheydoit 128bit low memory clock version..No wonder it cant go
above 10 000 score...I thought so, 133 or 150 FSB being bottlenect for real AGP 8x card with memory running near 700Mhz. Ok, we got this straight ! Does anyone what would dual socket board with tualatins inside with 9800 pro score? 😁 Any or non increase in performance with
dual cpu system on winxp doing '01 benchmark ? 😁
