Tuxality made some of them but they are far from finished.

It accelerates only wireframes, but the advertisments mention the inclusion of the 3D-SuperPack in both Plus and Lite variants.

it does more than wireframes, basic feature set is same for all the Matrox chips(ets) of that generation.

Found MGA Impression Plus / Lite Owner's Manual - the Lite is also supported for the games:

On the Impression Lite, Gouraud-shaded 3D is not available under Windows. It is available with the AutoCAD for DOS driver, but not for animation commands.
The 3D games included in the SuperPack are fully supported on the Impression Lite.

Thx, I love matrox cards, they are top notch!
Is there an overview that lists major API's and the compatibility of theire follower-cards?

I have started a matrix (table) webpage, but will be lot time to fill with games.
But the API-s and cards have finished (but Glide is not detailed):

keep it up, it looks promising!
I think there are a lot of possible upgrades for the matrox-cards available.
Those who do "standard-testing" will possibly not have searched for them, e.g. my G200 displays nearly all resolutions in nearly all colordepths. I do load a special vesa3 bios before/while I start win95. So other problematic games (mktriology) run better then with the so called "standard/better opportunities of that time like r128/tnt/e.g.".

The matrox cards have a lot of potential to be "THE RETRO DOS/W9X" cards.

Here we talk primarily "Proprietary API"-s and might only few games/patches have not listed in the first post. If you find a not listed Matrox MSI API game or patch, please share it with us here. 😉
I like Matrox cards too but I separate the Dos and Win9x/ME compatibility. The Matrox cards are not strong in Dos game compatibility (you can see it in my chart), but very good in Windows, G200 and laters are really good in Direct3D and OpenGL.

You mean the matrox-scrolling ussues? Yes indeed there are some minor problems with some old games, but the games are so old that wont run on a machine that fast like a pentium1 and above, there are more like ega/stuff for 286/386/486. But I am sure that these "incompatibilities" are not checked with every possible software-solution.

Like I said, Matrox vesa2 in hardware with special g200 vesa3 driver supports nearly every low dos resolution in every bitdepth. that does not solve the scrolling issue, that's right for sure.

Can someone upload screenshots of "IceHawk", "3D Shooting Maker", "Enigma", "Moon Racer ", "ReLoaded " games googling not help =(.?
"A Train No. 5" screens? youtube link dead.

These video cards rare, especially Tasmania 3D, any chance that these can be emulated, i mean
if someone decided to workaround on them, like verite drivers page have 3dfx wrapper so knowing with source code, so knowing how to wrap 3dfx game to Verite, programmer can learn and do vice versa verite to 3dfx wrapper, with source code can be reconstructed that gives us way more than 50% if not 100, on how it works.
Another approach, is make PC with these video cards and give remote control so everyone can try it, or do experiements, hacks etc to figure out how they work, Thanks to Tuxality who already work on them.
ATI CIF emulation in progress https://github.com/ata4/glrage

I assembled retro PC, but i don't have any video card now i am hunting =).

PCem and 86Box now emulates S3 ViRGE but i cant test it low end machine=(, and it seems S3D api still unsupported?

There is MeTaL games

Any SGL2 API games ever released?

dropbox links dead.

HeXen II available in Software/3dfx/OpenGL/PowerVR (comes with matrox m3d as separate disc "HeXen II: Continent of Blackmarsh" pvrh2.exe )/Verite (vh2.exe).
Heretic II available in Software/3dfx/OpenGL/Verite/G200GL (for Matrox G200).

There is, but for some reason that thread isn't stickied. Really should be though.

There is no complete list for 3DFX games here on VOGONS afaik. There is one made for supported 3DFX DOS games. For complete 3DFX supported games list the easiest is to check out the list over at nglide.

Ah...I need to read more carefully. Thought the request was for the DOS list.

ok have S3 ViRGE DX , can't make any game work with it, installed drivers properly, only screamer setup tells me s3 onboard detected, only quake1 works.

Have you tried this ? It's a cool little utility that allows you to run S3D games on later Virge cards.

Meanwhile, I'd love to get my hands on an S3D version of Havoc and play that game properly. 🤣
